Jamal Crawford Denies Starbury Beef; Are the Knicks OK?

Well, that didn’t take long. After yesterday’s report of a pseudo-spat between Jamal Crawford and Stephon Marbury, the former has gone on record as saying that the story was about as accurate as it sounded. Since the media hasn’t managed to get the facts right thus far, we’ll let Jamal Crawford tell the tale.

First things first . . . let’s talk about the report that’s making some national headlines.

The headlines read, "Crawford Doesn’t Want Marbury Around." So if you read the story that came out in Marc Berman’s blog, he goes on to say that while a writer was in front of Stephon’s locker when Steph got out the shower, that there was some sort of argument and I’m in the background telling people to watch those guys argue.

Problem is the story WASN’T TRUE!!!

When Steph came out of the shower I was already gone out of the locker room! I did come back in the locker room to get my cell phone that I had forgot. I saw a lot of reporters around Steph’s locker (they are always there) and I picked up my cell phone and left. - The Crawford Files

So there you have it. Still, even without any personal animosity between the gentlemen who comprise New York’s potential backcourt, you have to wonder if things can work out on the hardwood. Will Stephon Marbury once again find a home in the starting five? Will Jamal Crawford finally learn to harness his talent? Will Zach Randolph and Mike D’Antoni get a room?

I should disclose at this point that I’m a fringe New Yorker. I’ve spent more time in NYC these past few years than anywhere else, and consequently I share the city’s sense of disappointment in the misery that has been the Knickerbockers in recent seasons.

Since I’m too close to the situation to comment objectively, I ask you this: Can the New York Knicks be a respectable team this season? Can they challenge for a spot in the second season? Can they make me stop counting the days until the Nets cross the Hudson and join me in Brooklyn? Let us know what you think in the comment box below.

I would really like HoopsVibe better if it talked about more positive issues than negative. It’s ashame nobody here covered the Delonte West piece, about his anger issues and getting help before it got worst. He is a positive example and unfortunately this will fly under the radar. While the selfish get all the attention. .

First off. Reporters are Homos. Can they not wait until the man gets some damn clothes on. They’re probably holding his towels and wiping him down. Anyway like trackrunner said, they don’t like Steph in that building period. He’s only around because he’s makin $22 million. Marbury will start half of the season. It’s probably a committee thing until further notice. Crawford will need to control his game. If he can do that, D’Antoni will love him, if not welcome to the dog house. Lastly the Knicks don’t care about Brooklyn at this point. They set the date back every week. Right now isn’t 2012? That project is expensive and the economy is not in their favor. So the Knicks just need to worry about things the broken things with their team. And try to get a legit superstar in 2010. Donnie Walsh can pull it off. Why is it that the same 5 teams get so much attention? Is it a market thing or what. There is 30 teams. But this is America so I guess you can what about whatever you want, peace! .

Man this site talks about the same teams everyday. Who cares about this. The Knicks are a train wreck, hardly news. It’s a known fact that most of the organization doesn’t like steph. Wheter they deny it or not. Only reason he is still around, because for the first time ever they actually don’t want to to flush millions down the toilet .
