Rapid City, SD (Basketball News) - Wally Szczerbiak scored 22 points to pace the Minnesota Timberwolves to a 96-92 victory over the Detroit Pistons, in the final preseason game for both teams.

Anthony Carter had 15 points, while Michael Olowokandi and Eddie Griffin each added 13 for Minnesota, which will open the regular season at home Wednesday night against Portland.

Maurice Evans had 24 points to lead Detroit. Carlos Arroyo had 17 points and 12 rebounds for the Pistons, who will start the regular season Wednesday night at home versus Philadelphia.
