NCAA Game Summary - Eastern Illinois at Morehead State

Morehead, KY (Basketball News) - Emmanuel Dildy made two free throws with one second remaining in overtime to give the Eastern Illinois Panthers a thrilling 73-71 victory over the Morehead State Eagles in an Ohio Valley Conference tilt.

Dildy finished the game with 21 points for Eastern Illinois (11-13, 6-7 OVC), while Josh Gomes led the way with 25 points. Bobby Catchings tallied 10 points and grabbed eight boards in the win.

Chad McKnight poured in a game-high 31 points for Morehead State (10-14, 4-9), while Ramon Kelly contributed 17 points. Quinton Smith chipped in 11 points in the setback.

The Panthers used a 13-4 run early in the opening frame to take a 30-27 lead into the break.

Eastern Illinois made 42.3 percent of its shots from the field in the second stanza and the Eagles connected on 7-of-8 shots from the foul line, as the two teams went into overtime knotted at 57-57.

In overtime, the Panthers shot 75.0 percent from the field and connected on 9- of-10 shots from the charity stripe en route to the two-point victory.

Eastern Illinois outrebounded Morehead State, 43-29, including a 20-11 advantage on the offensive glass.
