Phoenix, AZ (Basketball News) - Wally Szczerbiak scored a game-high 24 points to lead Minnesota over Phoenix, 93-80, at America West Arena.

Kevin Garnett added 17 points 20 rebounds en route to his NBA-leading 60th double-double of the season for the Timberwolves, who won for the first time in three games.

The Timberwolves trailed by two late in the third, but responded with a 16-1 run and they never looked back. Szczerbiak completed the burst on an 18-footer to put Minnesota ahead, 74-61, with 9:14 to play.

"We played the right way in the fourth quarter," said Minnesota head coach Flip Saunders.
