Charlotte had a two-game winning streak ended Sunday in a 94-78 loss to the mighty Detroit Pistons at The Palace of Auburn Hills.
Raymond Felton paced the Bobcats with 18 points and Melvin Ely added 15 and six rebounds in the loss, Charlotte’s third in its last five attempts. Jumaine Jones chipped in 13 points and 11 boards in the loss.
The Bobcats will return home, where they have won two straight and are 12-19 this season.
Washington, meanwhile, ended a two-game losing streak with Friday’s 110-92 win over the Detroit Pistons.
Gilbert Arenas poured in 34 points and dished out six assists. while Caron Butler added 30 points and six rebounds for the Wizards, who won for just the second time in their last seven outings.
The sixth-seeded Wizards have lost three in a row on the road and own a 9-19 mark as the visitor this season.
Charlotte won the first meeting of the season with the Wizards at home by a 100-82 score. But Washington tied the season series with a 107-97 victory in DC on January 28.
The Wizards have won five of the last six meetings with Charlotte.
