(Basketball News) - The Boston Celtics visit Atlantic Division-rival New York tonight at Madison Square Garden.
Tonight is Boston’s first road game of the season, The Celtics were just 17-24 on the road last season.
On Friday, the Celtics were defeated by the Indiana Pacers, 100-94, at the FleetCenter. Paul Pierce ended with 15 points for Boston, which dropped its opener 98-95 to Philadelphia on Wednesday after holding an 18-point second- half lead.
Ricky Davis had a team-high 22 points in the loss to Indiana for the Celtics, who had an early fourth-quarter advantage but couldn’t hold on for the win.
In 2003-04, the Knicks won three of the four contests. Boston’s lone win over New York last season was an 87-84 victory on March 9, 2004 at the FleetCenter. The Celtics have won five of six and six of their last eight at New York.
