Carter and Miller named NBA Players of the Week 01.31.2005

Carter averaged 25 points, 7.8 assists and 3.3 rebounds per game while leading the Nets to a 3-1 record during the week. He shot 49.4 percent from the floor. In a 99-82 victory over Utah on January 29, Carter notched a season-high 10 assists to go along with 30 points and four blocked shots.
Miller, meanwhile, helped the Kings to a 3-1 record last week, with the victories coming over New Jersey, Houston and Minnesota. The 7-foot center out of Purdue averaged 24 points, 12 rebounds and 3.8 assists.
Miller also connected on 68.3 percent of his shots, the third best mark in the league. He scored a season-high 31 points, grabbed a game-high 12 rebounds and handed out five assists in a 113-93 victory over the Nets on January 25.
Other nominees for Eastern and Western Conference Players of the Week were Boston’s Paul Pierce, Cleveland’s Drew Gooden, the Clippers’ Elton Brand, Phoenix’s Steve Nash and Amare Stoudemire and Washington’s Gilbert Arenas.
