=== Golden State Warriors Team Report - November 11 ===

(Basketball News) - The Golden State Warriors fell to 0-5 on the season, as they were defeated 91-71 by the San Antonio Spurs on Wednesday at the SBC Center.

Jason Richardson and Mike Dunleavy scored 13 points apiece, while Speedy Claxton added 10 points in the loss, but failed to score after halftime.

Golden State has not started 0-5 since 1998-99.

San Antonio jumped out to a 15-6 lead in the first quarter after a 6-0 run, and later went ahead by 13 before carrying a 23-12 advantage into the second.

The Spurs led by as many as 15 in the first half, going ahead 42-27 when Mike Wilks capped a 13-4 run with a bucket inside the 3:00 mark. They held a 46-33 cushion heading into the break behind 17 first-half points from Tim Duncan.

The Spurs led by double digits until Richardson drained a three-pointer to make it 58-51 around the 5:00 mark of the third quarter. Golden State got as close as 62-57, but Malik Rose hit a jumper at the buzzer to give San Antonio a 64-57 lead.

The Spurs then put the game away with a strong fourth quarter, opening the stanza with an 18-7 run that cemented the win. They held the Warriors scoreless for a five-minute stretch at one point and led by as many as 21 points late in the game.

The Warriors haven’t won in San Antonio in nearly eight years, dropping 14 straight there since February 14, 1997.

Golden State returns to action on Friday when they travel to Memphis to face the Grizzlies at the FedExForum.
