Paul, the fourth overall selection in the draft, was a consensus First Team All-American last season as a sophomore at Wake Forest. He averaged 15.3 points and 6.6 assists in 32 games for the Demon Deacons last season.
"We’re glad to get Chris officially signed so that he can begin his NBA career," said general manager Allan Bristow. "He has great leadership skills and we feel he can be a part of an explosive young backcourt for us this season. We became even more impressed with him as a person once we got to know him."
Paul made quite a mark in his brief stay at Wake Forest. He ranks seventh in school history with 395 assists and is seventh in steals with 160.
