Iverson sits out third consecutive game 01.29.2005

It was the third straight game the NBA’s leading scorer has missed. He is expected to return to the starting lineup Monday when the Sixers host the Indiana Pacers.
Iverson, who has been bothered by a sore shoulder for much of the season, also sat out Friday’s game against New Orleans and Wednesday’s game against Washington.
Friday marked the fifth game that Iverson has missed this season. He sat out a November 21 contest against Miami with an elbow contusion and was unable to go against Minnesota on January 7 due to a right ankle injury.
With the victory, the Sixers are now 1-4 this season without Iverson.
Second-year guard Willie Green started in Iverson’s place against Dallas.
