(Basketball News) - The Minnesota Timberwolves target their fourth consecutive win this evening when they kick off a four-game road trip against the Denver Nuggets at the Pepsi Center.
On Tuesday, Kevin Garnett scored 27 points and pulled down 10 rebounds to lead the Timberwolves past the San Antonio Spurs, 86-81, at the Target Center. Latrell Sprewell netted 20 points and Sam Cassell recorded a triple-double with 14 points, 11 assists and 10 rebounds for Minnesota, which won for 5he fourth time in its last six tries.
The win also extended the Timberwolves’ advantage in the Midwest Division to three games over the Spurs and drew them to within two games of the Sacramento Kings for the top overall spot in the Western Conference.
Minnesota has dropped two of its last three on the road and is 24-12 away from home this season.
Garnett has scored at least 20 points in 12 of his last 13 games.
