On Wednesday, Allen Iverson scored a season-high 42 points as the Philadelphia saw a 20-point lead disappear, then hung on to defeat the winless Toronto Raptors 121-115 at the Air Canada Centre.
Andre Iguodala tallied a career-high 26 points, including six three-pointers, to go along with 10 rebounds, while Chris Webber added 21 points for the 76ers, whose streak comes on the heels of starting the season with three straight losses.
Philadelphia shot 54 percent from the floor, including 56 percent (9-of-16) from beyond the arc.
The Sixers, who will return home for two games after tonight’s affair, are 2-1 away from home this season.
Miami, meanwhile, comes in riding a winning streak of its own after Dwyane Wade scored 25 points and keyed a late run as the Heat needed overtime to defeat the New Orleans/Oklahoma City Hornets, 109-102 on Tuesday.
Antoine Walker added 21 points off the bench and Alonzo Mourning had a double- double with 10 points and 11 rebounds for the Heat, who won their third straight game and fourth in a row at home.
With the Hornets up 90-83, the Heat ran off 13 straight points, including seven in the final two minutes of the fourth, to send the game into overtime. Miami quickly went up six in the extra session and hit its free throws down the stretch to take the victory.
Jason Williams added 17 points in the win before leaving in the fourth quarter with a leg injury. He is questionable for tonight’s affair.
The Heat, who will be closing a four-game homestand tonight, are 4-1 in their building this season.
Philly split its four meetings with the Heat last season, but have won eight of 11, 11 of 15 and 15 of the last 20 meetings. The Sixers, though, have dropped three straight in South Beach.
