Phoenix is 3-6 after nine contests and is still trying to find its game. On Monday, the Golden State Warriors go for their sixth straight win when they welcome the Suns to ORACLE Arena. The Suns and Warriors have split the last six contests in the series. Phoenix has lost five of its last eight at Golden State.
The Suns attempt to get back on the winning track versus the Warriors. On Saturday, Deron Williams scored 25 points and handed out 14 assists to lead the Utah Jazz to a 120-117 overtime victory over Phoenix at the Delta Center. The Suns blew a 16-point lead in the fourth quarter, and missed two open three-point shots in the final three seconds that would have tied the game.
All-Star forward Shawn Marion scored 35 points and grabbed six rebounds in the loss for the Suns, who had a two-game winning streak halted. Raja Bell scored 20 and Amare Stoudemire netted 19 and pulled down 12 rebounds for Phoenix.
Phoenix is 0-4 on the road this season. After Monday’s game, the Suns return home for a two-game stand. The will host the New Orleans/Oklahoma City Hornets on Wednesday and the New Jersey Nets on Friday at US Airways Center.
Leandro Barbosa leads the Suns in scoring (19.9 ppg), while Marion has grabbed a team-best 9.0 rebounds per game and reigning MVP Steve Nash has dished out a club-high 10.9 assists.
Stoudemire, who has returned from a serious knee injury, is averaging 14.1 points and 6.8 rebounds.
