NBA Game Summary - Milwaukee at New York

New York, NY (Basketball News) - Michael Redd scored 23 points as Milwaukee routed New York, 97-80, at Madison Square Garden.

Andrew Bogut scored 18 points on 8-of-9 shooting for the Bucks, who won their second straight. Bobby Simmons posted 15 points and 11 rebounds, while T.J. Ford had 14 points and 10 assists. Joe Smith added 11 points.

Maurice Taylor scored 22 points for the Knicks, who lost their third straight. Eddy Curry scored 13 points, and David Lee added 10.

Milwaukee is currently 1/2 game ahead of the Indiana Pacers for the sixth spot in the Eastern Conference playoff race, and 1/2 game behind Washington for the No. 5 seed. At 22-57, New York owns the worst record in the Eastern Conference.

The Knicks finished the game on a 17-1 run sparked by a Jamal Crawford free throw with 6:33 remaining, however their 83-57 deficit heading into the final stanza proved insurmountable.

After Qyntel Woods scored the first five points, Milwaukee went on a 13-0 run capped by a Bogut layup with 7:54 remaining in the first quarter. The Bucks led 30-19 heading into the second stanza.

New York outscored Milwaukee by three in the second quarter to trail 51-43 at halftime, however Milwaukee blew the game open in the third quarter as it opened the stanza on a 16-3 run capped by a Redd dunk with 6:27 left to lead 67-46.

Milwaukee ended a six-game skid on the road and is 15-25 away from the Bradley Center this season.

New York is 2-6 in its last eight home games and 15-25 at Madison Square Garden this season.

New York head coach Larry Brown was released from a hospital, but missed the game. Brown went to the locker room late in the third quarter of Thursday night’s 91-87 loss at Cleveland. After the game, Brown was taken to a local hospital on a stretcher. Assistant coach Herb Williams coached the Knicks in his place against the Bucks...New York ended a three-game series losing streak to the Bucks on March 4, but Milwaukee has won five of the last seven meetings...The Bucks have won three of four and five of their last eight trips to the Big Apple.
