(Basketball News) - The Hawks came up short Saturday night, dropping an 87-81 decision to the Utah Jazz at Philips Arena.
Bob Sura scored a game-high 19 points and had seven assists for the Hawks, who have dropped four of their last five contests. Stephen Jackson added 17 points in the loss.
After falling behind 72-65, Utah used an 8-0 surge to pull ahead by one. Aleksandar Pavlovic’s basket at the midway point of the final period staked the Jazz to a 77-74 lead.
Raul Lopez then drained a hoop with 3:54 remaining to make it 83-76 and the Hawks never got closer than five points the rest of the game.
Atlanta made only 2-of-17 from behind the arc (12 percent) and 77 percent from the charity stripe (23-of-30).
The Jazz swept the season series and have won three straight and 10 of the last 12 matchups with the Hawks.
Atlanta will return to the court Monday night against the New York Knicks at Madison Square Garden.
