2009-10 GM Predictions

  By Christopher Sells
10.7.2009 - Updated on 10.7.2009

I’m convinced that the NBA’s General Managers have a pool going. They each put in five bucks (or something more substantial since they’re all paid pretty well) and at the end of the year they divvy up the pot to the GM that guessed correctly most often. There has to be a reason that they vote every year on which players, rookie and teams will be the best in the league. Gambling actually is probably not involved, but I’d like to think that it is. Just makes me feel better.

In any case, you can go here, here and here to see the results for yourself, but here are some of the most notable ones.

NBA Champions: L.A. Lakers
Eastern Conference Champs: Boston
Western Conference Champs: L.A. Lakers
Atlantic Division Champs: Boston
Central Division Champs: Cleveland
Southeast Division Champs: Orlando
Southwest Division Champs: San Antonio
Northwest Division Champs: Portland
Pacific Division Champs: L.A. Lakers
Most improved team: Washington
MVP: LeBron James
Best Point Guard: Chris Paul
Best Shooting Guard: Kobe Bryant
Best Small Forward: LeBron James
Best Power Forward: Tim Duncan
Best Center: Dwight Howard
Rookie of the Year: Blake Griffin
Best Coach: Phil Jackson

I don’t know what’s going on, but I doubt that Phil Jackson will get the coach of the year honors. As strange as this is, they tend to vote for a newer, up and coming coach that severly improved a team in a year, rather than a proven coach that wins year in and year out. I think Phil and Jerry Sloan only have 2 awards between them. I can’t wait to see Blake Griffin in action, I think he is going to be a new breed of NBA athlete. .

Who are you. This should be an Oly only site. Nothing against you personally but what was the point of you writing anything? You should have just posted a link....except we have already seen it cause we actually go to good sites such as espn. Anyway, no one will post here because you wrote it so there will b e no discussion. Sorry, but just being truthful. At least your better than J.Nguyen .
