New York, NY (Basketball News) - Taj McWilliams-Franklin compiled 19 points and seven rebounds and Katie Douglas scored 18 points as Connecticut posted a 72-65 victory over New York at Madison Square Garden. Nykesha Sales added 14 points for the Sun, who established a franchise record with their 19th win of the season. Becky Hammon had 17 points while Elena Baranova finished with 10 points and 10 rebounds in the loss, the Liberty’s third in four games.

Final Score: Sacramento 67, San Antonio 57

San Antonio, TX (Basketball News) - Yolanda Griffith racked up 21 points and 14 rebounds to lead Sacramento to a 67-57 victory over San Antonio at the SBC Center. Nicole Powell chipped in 17 points to help the Monarchs to their fifth consecutive win. Katie Feenstra and Shyra Ely scored 12 and 11 points, respectively, for the Silver Stars, who committed a season-worst 22 turnovers.

Washington, DC (Basketball News) - Chasity Melvin had 17 points to lead four Washington players in double figures as the Mystics held on for a 65-63 victory over Charlotte at the MCI Center. Delisha Milton-Jones added 12 for Washington, which nearly blew a 10-point halftime lead. The Sting, which has lost nine straight and fell to 0-12 on the road this season, received a season-best 25 points along with eight rebounds from Tangela Smith.

Final Score: Houston 62, Detroit 61

Houston, TX (Basketball News) - Sheryl Swoopes’ basket with 23 seconds remaining lifted Houston past Detroit, 62-61, at the Toyota Center. Swoopes ended with 17 points and Michelle Snow netted 15 as the Rockets averted their fourth consecutive loss at home. Deanna Nolan poured in 23 points and grabbed 10 rebounds for the Shock, who had a two-game win streak snapped.
