Marryott served as the club’s interim head coach last season and compiled a 13-17 record while playing against four teams that reached the postseason.
"Tom has handled the transition from interim to our head coach with great patience, dignity and professionalism," said director of athletics Chet Gladchuk. "He remained the benchmark for all applicants throughout a national search and in the end, emerged as the best person for the position. He will bring continuity and leadership to our ambitious plan for rebuilding the program to an annual level of competitive excellence.
Marryott served as an assistant coach with the men’s program from 1998-03. In those five years, Navy made three Patriot League championship game appearances and reached the 1998 NCAA Tournament. The Midshipmen also won a pair of regular-season league titles and amassed an 80-65 overall record.
