(Basketball News) - Chauncey Billups scored 27 points and dished out seven assists to lead the Detroit Pistons to a 105-99 win over their Central Division-rival Milwaukee Bucks Friday at the Palace of Auburn Hills.
Richard Hamilton added 24 points and Mehmet Okur had 12 points and a career- high 18 rebounds in the win. Ben Wallace collected 10 points and 15 rebounds, as Detroit won its fourth straight game and cracked 100 points for the first time this season.
With the Pistons up 95-86, the Bucks went on a 9-1 run to pull within one point. But Hamilton answered with two big jumpers that pushed the lead to five at 100-95 with 3:02 to play.
Milwaukee then cut the lead to two on a pair of Michael Redd free throws with 39 seconds left, but Billups answered with a pair of his own to push the Pistons’ lead back to four.
Then, Wallace stole an inbounds pass from Tim Thomas and found Billups across the floor. When Billups was fouled and drained two foul shots, it was all but over.
The Pistons are off until Sunday when they host New Jersey in a rematch of last season’s Eastern Conference final.
