The Pistons’ latest effort was a 94-84 win over the Boston Celtics at The Palace of Auburn Hills. Rasheed Wallace scored a game-high 23 and grabbed nine rebounds in the victory. Richard Hamilton hit 7-of-11 shots and posted 18 points for the Pistons, who have won 15 of their past 17 contests.
Chauncey Billups had 13 points and a game-high 16 assists while Tayshaun Prince also netted 13 points in the win. Detroit had only four fast-break points Monday, but they did finish with 30 assists on 35 baskets, including 16 assists by Billups
The Pistons, who are an impressive 16-2 at home, are also a "respectable" 14-3 on the road - where they play their next two games. Detroit heads to struggling Atlanta (10-26) on Wednesday and finished up a short two-game road trip in Madison Square Gardens against the Knicks (13-23) on Thursday.
The Pistons are 9-3 against Atlanta since 2002 and have won the last three. There have also won the last five against the Knicks, so there is no reason that the Pistons’ hot streak can’t continue.
Guard Lindsey Hunter (ankle) has "fully recovered" from his ankle surgery, but the Pistons don’t plan to activate him, according to the Detroit News. Coach Flip Saunders said he probably would start easing Hunter into games by the end of the month.
