NCAA Game Summary - Illinois State at Evansville

Evansville, IN (Basketball News) - Clint Cuffle poured in a game-high 21 points while leading the Evansville Purple Aces to a 79-48 victory over the Illinois State Redbirds in a Missouri Valley Conference showdown.

Matt Webster scored 14 points and grabbed seven boards for Evansville (5-16, 4-9 MVC), which has a two-game winning streak.

Najeeb Echols netted 16 points for Illinois State (6-15, 2-11), while Gregg Alexander had 12 points and Greg Dilligard added 10 points in the losing effort.

The Purple Aces used a 13-1 run late in the opening frame to take a commanding 38-19 lead into the break.

Evansville shot 57.1 percent from the floor in the second stanza and netted 6- of-10 shots from long range, en route to the 31-point victory.

The Purple Aces netted 9-of-16 shots from behind the arc, while Illinois State connected on just 4-of-17. Evansville also shot 54.4 percent from the field and held the Redbirds to just 29.8 percent.
