Tucson, AZ (Basketball News) - Mustafa Shakur netted 23 points and had six rebounds to lead the ninth-ranked Arizona Wildcats past No. 18 Memphis, 79-71, in the Chase Fiesta Bowl Classic at the McKale Center. Ivan Radenovic and Chase Budinger each had 18 points for the Wildcats (9-1), who have won nine straight since their season-opening loss to Virginia on November 12. Radenovic also had six rebounds. Jeremy Hunt had 21 points while Andre Allen chipped in with 15 for the Tigers (8-3), who had won their last two games and lost for just the second time in eight games. Kareem Cooper had 11 points and six boards in the loss.

Raleigh, NC (Basketball News) - Richard Hendrix poured in 23 points and pulled down 12 rebounds to lead 10th-ranked Alabama past North Carolina State, 82-75, at the RBC Center. Mykal Riley added 17 points for the Crimson Tide (10-1), who have won three straight since suffering their only loss of the season, a 14-point setback at the hands of Notre Dame. Ronald Steele chipped in with 14 points while Alonzo Gee and Jermareo Davidson each had 10. Brandon Costner had a game-high 25 points for the Wolfpack (7-3), who lost for the first time in three games. Ben McCauley contributed 24 points and Courtney Fells finished with 14.

Seattle, WA (Basketball News) - Spencer Hawes scored a season-high 23 points and pulled down 12 rebounds to lead the 17th-ranked Washington Huskies over the 12th-ranked LSU Tigers at Bank of America Arena. Jon Brockman netted 19 points and had 14 rebounds for the Huskies (9-1), who never trailed in the contest. Quincy Pondexter added 15 points and Phil Nelson contributed nine points off the bench. Tasmin Mitchell led the Tigers (6-3) with 20 points. LSU lost for just the second time in its last six games. The Tigers were making their first Seattle appearance since defeating the Huskies 70-61 in their last meeting on Nov. 27, 1985. Terry Martin scored 13 points and was the only other player in double figures for LSU.

Price scored 17 points to lead four Husky players in double figures, as 14th-ranked Connecticut easily defeated Pepperdine, 88-66, in a non-league matchup at Hartford Civic Center. Doug Wiggins came off the bench to contribute 16 points for undefeated UConn (10-0), while Hasheem Thabeet netted 15 points. Jeff Adrien had 14 points and seven rebounds, as the Huskies extended their home winning streak to a school- record 29 games. If Connecticut runs the table in the month of December, they will become the first group of Huskies to enter the month of January at 12-0. UConn hosts Coppin State on December 27th and visits West Virginia on December 30th. Tomas Pranciliauskas scored a team-high 22 points for Pepperdine (3-10), which has lost four of its last five games. Kingsley Costain donated 14 points and Chase Griffin added 12 in a losing effort.
