Dallas is seeded fourth in the West and three games behind the San Antonio Spurs for the Southwest Division lead. The two clubs are also battling for home-court advantage in the West.
The streak reached a season-high three losses for Dallas on Friday in a surprising 108-99 loss to the Orlando Magic.
Dirk Nowitzki scored a game-high 38 points and pulled down 15 rebounds for the Mavericks, while Jason Terry chipped in 23 points and Jerry Stackhouse added 14 points and five assists.
The Mavs, who went 1-3 on their four-game road trip, will return home where they have won three of their last four games. Dallas is a solid 30-6 as the host in 2005-06.
Meanwhile, Denver ended a two-game losing streak with Friday’s 106-94 win over the Minnesota Timberwolves at the Pepsi Center.
Carmelo Anthony scored 32 points and Andre Miller notched 16 points and eight assists for the Nuggets, who are in first place in the Northwest Division and No. 3 in the Western Conference playoff race.
With Utah losing Friday, Denver is six games ahead of the Jazz in the division.
Denver is 5-3 in its last eight road games and 17-19 as the visitor this season.
Dallas has a 2-1 season series lead over the Nuggets and Sunday’s matchup is the fourth and final meeting of the regular season.
The Mavs have won four of the last five matchups and 14 of 18.
Denver has lost two straight and 15 of its last 16 trips to Dallas.
