Heat activate Laettner; place Allen on injured list

Miami, FL (Basketball News) - The Miami Heat Tuesday activated forward Christian Laettner from the injured list, while placing forward Malik Allen on the IL.

Laettner, who has not yet played in a regular season game for Miami, was placed on the IL on November 14 due to right knee patella tendinitis. A 12- year pro, Laettner was signed by Miami in the middle of September, just six days after he was waived by Golden State.

The veteran has averaged 13.3 points with 6.9 rebounds with six different teams in his career. The Heat will be Laettner’s seventh NBA team, including two stints with Dallas.

Meanwhile, Allen was placed on the injured list because of back spasms. He has netted 7.1 points to go along with 4.3 boards in Miami’s first 10 games this season.
