Houston Rockets Team Report - February 12

(Basketball News) - Yao Ming recorded 29 points and 11 rebounds to lead the Rockets past Shaquille O’Neal and the Los Angeles Lakers, 102-87, at the Toyota Center.

This was Yao’s second-highest point-total of the season. He scored 37 against Orlando on January 25.

Steve Francis and Cuttino Mobley each scored 21 points and combined for 16 assists for the Rockets. Maurice Taylor pumped in 14 points off the bench, as Houston won for the fourth time in five games.

The Rockets have won eight of their last 12 home games, improving to 17-8 at the Toyota Center. Houston hasn’t allowed over 100 points in its last 26 contests.

Houston is 6-0 when scoring 100 points or more.

Yao and the Rockets also got the best of the Lakers on Christmas Day, tallying a 99-87 win at the Staples Center.

Houston will be off for the All-Star break until next Tuesday against Washington at the Toyota Center.
