It’s highly unlikely the pretty girls and other eye candy in South Beach can distract the Pistons, but a densely populated American Airlines Arena will do its best to give the Heat their seventh straight win at home.
Miami ended a two-game overall losing streak on Tuesday with a 115-89 victory over the Milwaukee Bucks. The win was Miami’s sixth in a row as the host and improved the home mark to 29-7.
Shaquille O’Neal scored 24 points and pulled down 10 rebounds to lead the Heat, who won for the 19th time in their last 24 games. Wade totaled 14 points, eight rebounds and eight assists, as Miami owns a 3 1/2-game lead over New Jersey for the No. 2 spot in the East.
Thursday’s game between Detroit and Miami is the fourth and final meeting of the season.
The Pistons own a 2-1 lead in the season series and have won nine of the last 11 matchups against Miami.
Detroit has history on its side in this series as the guest, having won five of its last seven trips to Miami.
