(Basketball News) - The Boston Celtics fell to the Houston Rockets, 95-80, on Wednesday at the FleetCenter.
Mike James scored 20 points for Boston, which has lost two straight on the heels of a three-game winning streak. Mark Blount had 14 points and nine rebounds in the loss.
Boston guard Paul Pierce finished 1-for-10 from the field and had just four points, all in the first quarter. Pierce left the game in the fourth quarter with an injured left hand.
The Celtics went 9-for-21 from beyond the arc.
Wednesday’s contest was the first game this season that Pierce did not score in double digits. Pierce has played at least 34 minutes per night in seven straight contests.
Boston is off until Friday when they visit Tracy McGrady and the Orlando Magic.
