Bulls host Nets at United Center

(Basketball News) - The New Jersey Nets and Chicago Bulls both try and get back on the winning track this evening when they battle at the United Center.

This is the second meeting of the season between the clubs. On November 5th, Richard Jefferson’s layup and free throw with 1.5 seconds left gave the Nets a 100-99 come-from-behind win over the Bulls at Continental Airlines Arena.

The home team has won three straight and 10 of the last 13 meetings in this series, while the Nets have won eight in a row over the Bulls. New Jersey has won three straight at Chicago.

The last time the Bulls defeated the Nets was on April 11, 2003 at Chicago.

New Jersey begins a three-game road trip tonight. On Monday, Mike Bibby netted 29 points and dished out 10 assists to lead Sacramento to an easy 109-84 win over New Jersey at Continental Airlines Arena.

Vince Carter ended with 21 points in the loss for the Nets, who have lost for four of their last five games overall. Richard Jefferson contributed 18 points and eight rebounds, while Clifford Robinson netted 13 and Jason Kidd ended with 10 points and 11 assists in the defeat.

The Nets, who will also visit the Hornets and Rockets on the current trip, are 13-18 as the visitor this season. They have lost two in a row on the road.

Chicago will try and bounce back from a bad loss. LeBron James scored 27 of his 37 points in the second half, as the Cleveland Cavaliers used a huge fourth quarter to blow past the Bulls, 91-72, at Quicken Loans Arena.

Ben Gordon scored 17 points and Luol Deng ended with 15 points and 12 rebounds for Chicago, which fell for the fourth time in six games. Kirk Hinrich added 15 points, while Darius Songaila scored 14 for the Bulls.

Chicago committed 18 turnovers, leading to 25 Cleveland points. The Bulls were horrendous from the foul line, going 7-for-19.

The Bulls are 13-16 at home this season.
