Kidd practiced with the team for the first time last week since undergoing knee surgery on July 1. The All-Star has spent the entire season on the injured list for the Nets, who are off to a 4-12 start.
The 31-year-old California product averaged 15.5 points, 9.2 assists and 6.4 rebounds over 67 regular-season games last year for New Jersey. He then posted averages of 12.6 points, 9.0 assists and 6.6 boards in 11 playoff contests.
New Jersey then placed forward Awvee Storey on the injured list with a strained right hamstring. He has played in nine games this season.
Meanwhile, Raptors guard Vince Carter did not practice on Sunday and could miss Monday’s contest against the Nets. The All-Star did not play on Saturday because of food poisoning.
Carter is averaging 16.1 points, 3.7 rebounds and 3.3 assists per game for the 7-12 Raptors.
