According to the St. Paul Pioneer Press, Hudson could earn almost $5.1 million per season. NBA teams can officially begin signing free agents on Wednesday, July 14, while the league, team owner Glen Taylor and Hudson still have to approve the deal.
Hudson played in just 29 games last season after suffering an ankle injury in an exhibition game in late October. Hudson made several comebacks during the campaign but eventually opted for season-ending surgery in April. He is slated to have his walking boot removed this week.
The Southern Illinois product averaged just 7.5 points and 2.4 assists per contest last season for the Timberwolves, who were ousted in six games by the Los Angeles Lakers in the Western Conference finals.
Hudson, a Carbondale, Illinois native, could also have his contract altered depending on the number of games he plays next season.
