12.6.2006

(Basketball News) - The New York Knicks shoot for their second straight win this evening when they resume a six-game homestand against the Washington Wizards at Madison Square Garden.

David Lee added 20 points and 11 boards for New York, which won for just the second time in nine home games. Quentin Richardson also had 20 points, as the Knicks won for just the third time in 10 outings.

The Knicks are 1-1 on their six-game homestand and 2-7 as the host this season.

Washington, meanwhile, has won three of its last four games and recorded a big 106-97 victory over the Dallas Mavericks at the Verizon Center.

Gilbert Arenas poured in 38 points and dished out eight assists to help end Dallas’ 12-game winning streak. Antawn Jamison posted a double-double with 20 points and 12 rebounds, while Caron Butler had 14 points, nine boards and seven assists for the Wizards.

The Wizards will travel to New York and Philadelphia, and are 0-8 on the road this season.
