Lowe and Zierden will assist new Pistons coach Flip Saunders, who took over for Larry Brown this summer. Brown left the Motor City after two seasons to coach the New York Knicks.
Lowe spent the last two seasons under Saunders with the Minnesota Timberwolves. The former NBA player was head coach of the Vancouver/Memphis Grizzlies for two-plus years and guided the T’wolves briefly during 1992-93.
Meanwhile, Zierden was an assistant coach/director of player development the last five seasons with the Timberwolves. He and Saunders also worked together at the University of Tulsa and in the CBA.
Kokoskov has been with Detroit the past two years after spending three campaigns as an assistant coach with the Los Angeles Clippers. The Yugoslavian is the first full-time, non-American assistant coach in NBA history.
