Blazers nearing end of another disappointing season

Portland is headed towards its third straight season without qualifying for the playoffs. The Trail Blazers won 41 games in 2003-04 and collected just 27 victories during the 2004-05 campaign.
On Wednesday, the New Jersey Nets open a three-game homestand when they host the Trail Blazers at Continental Airlines Arena. In the first meeting of the season between New Jersey and Portland on January 27th, Juan Dixon scored 26 points for the Trail Blazers before being ejected late in the game during an 88-83 victory at the Rose Garden.
The Trail Blazers have lost three of their last four at New Jersey.
Portland plays the second of a four-game road trip against the Nets. On Tuesday, Ben Gordon led a balanced Chicago attack with 23 points and seven rebounds, as the Bulls crushed Portland, 95-66, at the United Center.
Zach Randolph was the lone double-figure scorer in the loss to the Bulls for Portland with 25 points. The Blazers, who shot 35.1 percent from the field, were held to a season-low in points and lost for the 15th time in 18 games overall.
Portland, which will also visit Cleveland and Milwaukee on the current swing is a brutal 6-26 on the road this season.
The Blazers are scheduled to play 10 of their final 19 games this season at the Rose Garden. They are just 14-17 as the host in the campaign.
