Lamar Odom scored 21 points and grabbed 11 rebounds to lead the Miami Heat to a 105-98 victory over Seattle at Key Arena.
Eddie Jones contributed 20 points and Dwyane Wade scored 18 for Miami, which won for the first time on the road this season (1-6). Udonis Haslem had 14 points and 10 rebounds for the Heat, who won for just the third time in 11 games to start the season.
Miami outrebounded the Sonics, 48-31.
The Heat beat a team from the Western Conference for the first time in six tries this season.
Portland lost its second game in row on Monday, falling to the Dallas Mavericks, 105-98, at American Airlines Center.
Wallace led all players with 31 points for the Trail Blazers. Zach Randolph added 25 points and a career-high 19 rebounds, and Bonzi Wells scored 14 for Portland, which has lost two straight after a three-game winning streak.
The Trail Blazers suspended Wells on Tuesday for two games without pay for conduct detrimental to the team.
In addition, the club took away his title as co-captain. The penalties stem from Wells’ most recent actions during the third quarter of Monday’s loss at Dallas.
Wells apparently cursed at head coach Maurice Cheeks and was then benched for the final 16 minutes and 17 seconds of the game.
In 2002-03, Portland won both contests with the Heat by decisive margins. The Blazers defeated Miami, 88-69, at the Rose Garden on December 6, 2002 and picked up a 101-87 win over the Heat in Miami on February 5, 2003.
Overall, the Blazers have won two in a row and four of the last five meetings between the two squads.
