NBA Game Summary - San Antonio at Memphis

Memphis, TN (Basketball News) - Tony Parker poured in 28 points on 12-of-13 shooting from the field and Tim Duncan was a force inside with 13 points and 12 rebounds, as the San Antonio Spurs used a dominating final 14 minutes to beat the Memphis Grizzlies, 93-83.

Manu Ginobili added 15 points and Michael Finley scored 13 for San Antonio, which has won eight of its last 10 games.

Pau Gasol had 25 points and nine boards to lead Memphis, losers of two straight. Shane Battier and Mike Miller each scored 11 points for the Grizzlies, who stayed tough with the Spurs until the latter moments of the third.

The Spurs led 27-19 after one quarter, but the Grizzlies scored the final eight points of the half to grab a 42-41 edge. Gasol had two consecutive dunks to cap the second quarter.

A Miller three-pointer moved Memphis to a 62-61 lead with 2:25 left in the third, but the Spurs scored the next eight points and didn’t trail the rest of the way. Brent Barry scored his lone basket of the game, a three-pointer, to put the Spurs in front. Parker then converted a three-point play and hit another driving layup for a 69-62 advantage with 1:13 left in the quarter.

The Spurs were in front 71-64 going into the fourth and built a double-digit lead on a Bruce Bowen three-pointer for a 78-66 game with 6:46 remaining. San Antonio led by at least eight points the rest of the game.

San Antonio, which had just nine turnovers and eight blocked shots, has won three of the last four meetings...The Grizzlies were 2-of-13 from three-point range...Memphis held a 43-35 edge on the glass...Bobby Jackson and Eddie Jones each scored 10 for the Grizzlies...San Antonio led in fast break points, 13-1.
