NBA Game Summary - Toronto at Detroit

Auburn Hills, MI (Basketball News) - Tayshaun Prince scored 27 points and Richard Hamilton added 18 points in Detroit’s 117-84 rout of the Toronto Raptors at the Palace of Auburn Hills.

Seven Pistons scored in double figures, and Detroit used a huge first quarter and dominating run in the third to remain unbeaten after three games this season.

Ben Wallace had 15 points and 13 rebounds, and Maurice Evans added 13 points. Chauncey Billups finished with 11 points, while Carlos Arroyo and Carlos Delfino each scored 10.

Jalen Rose had 25 points for Toronto, which has lost five in a row at Detroit. Morris Peterson added 17 points, while Mike James and Chris Bosh each tallied 12 points for the Raptors, who have lost their first three contests of the season.

Detroit outrebounded the Raptors, 57-35, including a 16-3 advantage on offensive boards.

The Pistons used a 12-4 run in the opening quarter to build a 16-8 advantage and they never trailed as it was 38-22 after 12 minutes. Prince scored nine straight Piston points at one juncture of the first quarter, and Detroit was in front 58-40 at the half.

Prince had nine points during a 14-2 Detroit spurt in the third as the Pistons built a 72-45 cushion with 6:40 left in the stanza.

The Raptors, who have trailed by at least 17 points at the half in each of their last two games, were behind 89-62 going into the final quarter.

Toronto’s Aaron Williams dislocated his finger in the opening quarter... The Raptors were 4-of-16 from behind the arc, while Detroit was 5-of-12 from three-point range...The Pistons made 26-of-36 foul shots.
