Cavs’ Jackson injured in summer league game

07.15.2004

Cleveland, OH (Basketball News) - Cleveland Cavaliers rookie forward Luke Jackson suffered an injured right calf during a summer league game.

Jackson, who was the 10th overall pick by the Cavs in last month’s draft, will have his injury evaluated by a team physician and will not return to summer league action. Cleveland officials did not say how Jackson was hurt.

The 6-foot-7 Jackson played four seasons for the University of Oregon and led the team in scoring and rebounding in both his junior and senior campaigns. In 2003-04, he averaged 21.2 points, 7.2 rebounds and 4.5 assists over 31 contests.

Jackson signed a three-year contract with the club earlier this month.
