(Basketball News) - Denver lost its third straight game on Tuesday, as it dropped a 108-88 decision to the Seattle SuperSonics at the Pepsi Center. Carmelo Anthony scored 20 points to lead Denver, while Andre Miller added 18 with six assists.
Anthony shot 8-for-15 and has connected on just 31.3 percent (30-for-96) this season, including 3-of-14 from 3-point range.
Earl Boykins had 10 with nine helpers and Kenyon Martin chipped in 14 points and seven rebounds in the loss for the Nuggets, losers in three straight and four of their first five games.
On the injury front forward Nene Hilario missed his fourth consecutive contest with a hamstring strain and is not expected to return for at least another week. Also,the Nuggets will place Voshon Lenard on the injured list and activate forward Nikoloz Tskitishvili before Thursday’s game.
Denver, which will wrap up a brief two-game homestand on Thursday against the defending NBA champion Detroit Pistons, is 1-2 at home this season.
The Nuggets lost both of their matchups against the Pistons last season and have dropped seven straight and eight of the last nine meetings. Denver, which has dropped 13 of its last 15 overall to Detroit, has also dropped three in a row at home in this series.
