Golden State Warriors Team Report - December 18 12.18.2004
|
(Basketball News) - Golden State has dropped two straight games on the heels of a modest two-game win streak. The Warriors added to their loss total (16) on Friday night, falling 100-83 to the Houston Rockets at the Toyota Center.
Jason Richardson was one of the few bright spots for Golden State in the loss, as he tallied 25 points on 10-of-20 (.500) shooting.
Speedy Claxton and Troy Murphy chipped in 11 points apiece in the losing effort. Murphy also garnered 13 rebounds for his 10th double-double of the season.
The Warriors were once again without starting forward Mike Dunleavy, who is sidelined with a bruised lower left leg. Mickael Pietrus had just two points in Dunleavy’s spot. It is unknown if Dunleavy will be available for tonight’s contest.
Golden State suffered from poor shot selection, hitting just 33 percent of its shots, including just 5-of-20 three-pointers. The Warriors were also outrebounded, 56-41, in the defeat.
Golden State, which is closing out a four-game road trip tonight in San Antonio, is only 2-9 in foreign buildings this season.
San Antonio won the first meeting between these teams on November 10, 91-71, at the SBC Center. The Spurs have won 14 straight home games against the Warriors.
