(Basketball News) - Derek Fisher posted 23 points and nine assists, as the Golden State Warriors earned a 99-93 victory over the Minnesota Timberwolves on Wednesday at the Target Center.

Jason Richardson netted 21 points and Mike Dunleavy added 19 for the Warriors, who halted a two-game losing streak and won for just the third time in eight contests. Troy Murphy registered 11 points and eight rebounds in the win, while Adonal Foyle chipped in 10 points and nine boards.

The Timberwolves led 73-68 after 36 minutes, but the fourth quarter belonged to Golden State. The Warriors opened the period with a 19-4 burst to grab an 87-77 lead with just over four minutes remaining in the contest. Golden State hit a trio of three-pointers in the stretch, including Baron Davis’ shot from beyond the arc that capped the burst with 4:01 left. Minnesota was able to cut the deficit to five points on a few occasions, but could never get closer than that.

Richardson has scored more than 21 points in all four of Golden State’s games since the All-Star break. He is averaging 26.5 points and 5.8 rebounds in that span.

Davis, who was acquired from New Orleans at the trade deadline, has not played over 29 minutes in a game for Golden State. He is averaging 7.8 points and seven assists in his four contests as a Warriors

The Warriors will continue their eight-game road trip on Friday against the Washington Wizards at the MCI Center. It will be the second and final meeting of the season between the clubs. On December 20th, the Wizards defeated Golden State, 103-101, at The Arena in Oakland.

After Friday’s contest, the Warriors, who are currently 1-1 on their road trip travel to New York to take on the Knicks on Sunday at Madison Square Garden. Golden State is scheduled to host the Knicks on March 28th in the final meeting of the 2004-05 campaign between the squads.

Next week, Golden State will visit the Philadelphia 76ers, Detroit Pistons, Indiana Pacers and Atlanta Hawks in the final games of its swing.
