Grizzlies host Sonics

Memphis is tied for fifth place with the Dallas Mavericks in the Western Conference, 1 1/2 games behind fourth-place San Antonio. The Sonics are in 11th place in the West, six games behind the Denver Nuggets for the last playoff spot.

This is the fourth and final meeting of the season between the two clubs. The teams split a pair of games at KeyArena, while Seattle beat the Grizzlies, 105-99, on December 30 at The Pyramid.

On Tuesday, Pau Gasol recorded a double-double with 22 points and 10 rebounds to lead the Grizzlies to an 82-79 win over the Philadelphia 76ers in front of their home crowd. Bo Outlaw added a season-high 15 points in the win off the bench, as Memphis ensured its first winning season in franchise history.

Gasol has scored at least 22 points in three of his last four games. He has averaged 17.8 points and 8.9 rebounds in his last 10 contests.

The Grizzlies, who have won four straight as the host, are an impressive 26-8 at home this season.

The Sonics, who play the fourth of a five-game road trip, come into tonight’s game on a two-game winning streak. On Tuesday, Brent Barry poured in 28 points and Allen chipped in 27 to lead Seattle to a 118-110 victory over the Atlanta Hawks at Philips Arena. Allen also had 10 rebounds to post a double-double, while Barry knocked down 7-of-11 shots from three-point range and handed out nine assists.

Vladimir Radmanovic came off the bench to net 16 points in Tuesday’s win, as the Sonics won their second straight overall after dropping the previous six contests. Vitaly Potapenko had 13 points and Rashard Lewis added 12 in the win.

Barry has averaged 26.5 points, four rebounds and 9.5 assists in his last two games.

Seattle, which is 2-1 on the current road swing, is 13-20 as the visitor this season.

The Sonics have won five of six and 12 of the last 14 contests with the Grizzlies. Seattle has won two straight and five of its last six at the Grizzlies.
