Hartigan leads Columbus past Chicago 04.1.2006

Nikolai Zherdev, Jaroslav Balastik and David Vyborny also scored for the Blue Jackets, who won their fifth straight game. The Blue Jackets also won five straight from January 24-February 2. Marc Denis made 27 saves.
Brandon Bochenski and Kyle Calder scored for the Blackhawks, who had a two- game winning streak snapped. Craig Anderson stopped 19 shots.
Bochenski scored on a wrister at the 3:17 mark in the second period to draw first blood for Chicago. Zherdev scored stick side from the top of the right circle with 20 seconds left to tie the score at one heading into the second intermission.
Calder gave the Blackhawks a 2-1 lead on the power play with a wrist shot tally at the 4:16 mark of the third period, but Hartigan tied the game 33 seconds later from the right circle on a wrister glove side.
Balastik took a wraparound pass from Jason Chimera and scored with a snap shot from the left circle at the 7:50 mark to give the ’Jackets a 3-2 lead.
Hartigan then scored off a rebound glove side on the power play from just outside the crease to make it a 4-2 game with 3:52 left.
Vyborny scored shorthanded on an empty net with 44.4 seconds left to seal the win for Columbus.
Both teams suffered nine penalties for a total of 18 minutes.
