(Basketball News) - Houston has won two straight games and five of six after posting a 100-83 shellacking of the Golden State Warriors at the Toyota Center Friday night.
Tracy McGrady led the Rockets with 27 points and nine rebounds in the contest. McGrady is registering 22.2 points, 5.7 rebounds and 5.2 assists per game.
Former Warrior Bob Sura was on fire in the contest, hitting 9-of-10 shots en route to 24 points, nine assists and eight rebounds. Meanwhile, Yao Ming chipped in a double-double with 17 rebounds and 15 points. It marked Yao’s eighth double-double of the season.
The Rockets were hard to stop in the game, hitting 48.2 percent of their shots, including 3-of-6 (.500) from three-point range. Houston owned the boards, outrebounding Golden State, 56-41.
The Rockets finished 5-1 on their season-high, six-game homestand. For the year, Houston is 6-6 at home and just 4-6 on the road.
Houston returns to the road to face the Charlotte Bobcats for the first time ever tonight.
