(Basketball News) - The Miami Heat had their three-game winning streak stopped on Wednesday with a 94-93 loss to the Cleveland Cavaliers at Gund Arena.
Eddie Jones scored 16 points for the Heat, while Lamar Odom and Dwyane Wade both chipped in 15 as Miami played only eight guys.
Wade was activated from the injured list prior to the game. He had missed 13 games with a sprained right wrist.
Malik Allen’s jump hook with 35.3 seconds left staked Miami to a 93-92 edge. Dajuan Wagner then missed a three-point attempt with 12 seconds remaining, but the long rebound came right back to him. The guard then drove to the basket and scored on a finger roll to give the Cavaliers a 94-93 advantage with 7.4 seconds to play.
The Heat had a chance to win in the final seconds, as Jones drove the lane and fed Wade underneath. However, Wade had his shot blocked by Ira Newble and the ball went out of bounds just as time expired.
Miami played the game without center Brian Grant, who could miss up to three games with a bruised left knee and tendinitis in his right knee.
The Heat have lost seven of its last nine on the road and are 13-8 away from home this season.
Miami returns to action on Friday against the Los Angeles Clippers.
