12.29.2005

(Basketball News) - The Denver Nuggets try to get back on the winning track when they play the second of a six-game homestand tonight against the Seattle SuperSonics at the Pepsi Center.

The road team has won seven of the last 12 contests in this series, while the Nuggets have won two straight after losing the last two meetings. Seattle has lost two of its last three at Denver.

On Tuesday, Allen Iverson drained a 17-foot jumper from the top of the key with 4.2 seconds remaining to give the Philadelphia 76ers a 108-106 win over the Nuggets at the Pepsi Center.

Carmelo Anthony scored a career-high 45 points in the loss to Philadelphia for the Nuggets, who have lost five of their last seven games overall. Andre Miller and Earl Watson both netted 15 for Denver.

Denver is 9-5 as the host this season. The Nuggets will also host San Antonio, Boston, Indiana and Dallas on the current homestand.

Seattle plays the finale of a brief two-game road trip. On Wednesday, Wally Szczerbiak hit 12-of-18 shots and scored 30 points, as the Minnesota Timberwolves beat the SuperSonics, 108-95, at the Target Center.
