Pierce and Allen earn Player of the Week honors 01.12.2004

Pierce averaged 25.8 points, 9.0 rebounds, and 5.8 assists in leading the Celtics to a 3-1 record for the week. His best game was a 30-point, 12-board, and eight-assist performance in Boston’s 107-82 win over Cleveland on Friday.
Pierce also netted 27 points and pulled down eight rebounds in a 97-93 win in Houston.
Allen’s week was highlighted by a 42-point, eight-assist game as he led the Sonics to a 119-108 come-from-behind victory against Portland in overtime. Seattle was 3-1 for the week with the help of Allen’s 26.8 points per game.
Allan also had 28 points, eight boards, and five assists in a 113-110 loss in overtime to Golden State.
Other candidates for Eastern and Western Conference Players of the Week were Detroit’s Ben Wallace, Indiana’s Ron Artest, Milwaukee’s Desmond Mason, Minnesota’s Kevin Garnett, Orlando’s Tracy McGrady, Sacramento’s Peja Stojakovic, and San Antonio’s Tim Duncan.
