(Basketball News) - Portland put an end to a two-game losing streak on Friday night, posting a 100-84 victory over Atlanta at Philips Arena.
Zach Randolph led the way with 23 points and 10 rebounds, while Darius Miles tacked on 20 points and eight boards.
Derek Anderson registered 15 points, six rebounds and six assists in 37 minutes of action, while Damon Stoudamire added 10 points on 5-of-5 shooting off the bench. Stoudamire, which had been ineffective in recent games, saw his streak of 103 consecutive games started for Portland come to an end in favor of Nick Van Exel.
The Blazers burned the nets for 57.7 field goal shooting, downplaying the fact that they committed 25 turnovers which led to 17 Atlanta points. Portland also owned a narrow 41-39 rebounding advantage.
Shareef Abdur-Rahim missed his second straight game because of a hyperextended right elbow. Abdur-Rahim is listed as questionable for tonight’s game.
Portland, which is in the midst of a season-long six-game road trip, has posted a 4-8 mark in foreign buildings this year. The Blazers are 1-2 on their current trip.
The Blazers continue their road trip in Detroit this evening. Detroit won both meetings between the teams last season, including a 78-71 win at home. The Blazers still have won six of their last eight meetings with Detroit. Portland has won seven of its last 10 at Detroit.
