November 25 Recap and Highlights

  By Christopher Sells
11.26.2008 - Updated on 11.26.2008

Warriors 100, Wizards 124

Apparently the Wizards only needed a coaching change to rediscover what it feels like to be in the win column. In Ed Tapscott’s first game as the team’s coach, the Wiz notched season highs in points, rebounds and assists. Caron Butler had 35 points, Antawn Jamison had 25 and 11 rebounds and Andray Blatche had 25, 12 and five blocks. Corey Maggette led the Warriors with 17and Jamal Crawford had nine points and seven assists in his first game for Golden State since being traded from the Knicks.

Cavaliers 119, Knicks 101
The Cavaliers led this one by as many as 34 and LeBron James got to rest for the entire fourth quarter as Cleveland blew out the new-look Knicks. James scored 26 before he took his seat for good and every Cav scored and got a rebound. Quentin Richardson led the Knicks with 22 points and Tim Thomas added 16 off the bench in his first game with New York.

Suns 99, Thunder 98

OKC led by as many as 16, but it would not last, as the Suns fought back to win by one point. Amare Soudemire put up 22 points and Steve Nash 20, eight rebounds and 15 assists. Phoenix played without Shaquille O’Neal, who took the night off in the team’s ongoing efforts to keep him fresh. Kevin Durant would lead the Thunder with 29 points and Earl Watson handed out 13 assists as the team dropped its 12th straight game. I’m proud that I made it through that recap without making a Sons of Thunder reference. Look it up.

Pacers 106, Mavericks 109

Dallas used Jason Terry’s 16 fourth-quarter points to squeak past the Pacers for their fifth straight victory. Terry would finish with 29 and the Mavs would get 24 points each from Dirk Nowitzki and Antoine Wright. Nowitzki would also add 12 boards. Jason Kidd contributed 13 assists. Danny Granger recorded 22 points and nine rebounds and Troy Murphy 21 and 14. Indiana lost its third straight game.

Nets 93, Lakers 120
If you haven’t noticed, the Lakers are a pretty good basketball team. Even with Kobe Bryant having an off shooting night, they blew out the Nets. Pau Gasol led them with 26 points and eight boards and Bryant would finish with 12 points on 5-17 shooting. Devin Harris led the Nets with 21 points and six assists. The Lakers shot over 50% for the game while the Nets failed to crack 35%. L.A. also held a massive bench scoring edge, 56-19.
