Recap and Highlights for December 11

  By Christopher Sells
12.12.2008 - Updated on 12.12.2008

Celtics 122, Wizards 88
The Celtics won and the Wizards lost. Nothing new here. There was extensive garbage time in this one; no player from either team played fewer than five minutes, even the recently acquired Mike James and Javaris Crittenton for Washington. Paul Pierce and Ray Allen both scored 22 for Boston, Pierce added eight assists. Caron Butler led the Wiz with 19 points, Antawn Jamison and Juan Dixon contributed 17 apiece. The Celtics have now won 13 straight games and nine straight road games. The Wizards lost for the sixth time in eight games.

Bobcats 90, Mavericks 95
Charlotte kept it close, but Jason Terry’s 11 fourth quarter points helped Dallas hold off the Bobcats. Terry finished with 26 points and Dirk Nowitzki had 23 and 13. Emeka Okafor had 27 points and 17 rebounds in the losing effort and Raymond Felton added 16. Charlotte has never beat Dallas, losing all ten of the two teams’ matchups since the Bobcats joined the league. The team has lost five straight overall.

Blazers 88, Jazz 97
Brandon Roy scored 33 for the Blazers and LaMarcus Aldridge scored 22. The rest of the team didn’t do much. Portland shot 22% from distance and had more turnovers (14) than assists (13) as they dropped their second straight game and their second of the season to division rival Utah. Mehmet Okur led Utah with 27 points and also grabbed 10 rebounds, Paul Millsap logged 17 and 12. Deron Williams had 14 and 11 assists.
