High School: He played ball first in his hometown of Chicago at Chicago Vocational School (1993-95), then at Marcos de Niza in Tempe, AZ (1995-1997).
College: He attended Mesa Community College, Mesa, AZ (1997-99) and Chicago State University (1999-2001).
Other Experience: In 2001, ‘Go Get It’ played for the Wellington Saints in New Zealand’s NBL. He also played in the summer pro leagues and had individual workouts with D.C. Wizards and Memphis Grizzlies. During 2005-2006 he again played in New Zealand.
Earned Street Name: He and friends made the name up back in the day because if you throw a lob anywhere in the area of the rim he will ‘Go Get It’. The name stuck.
Joined Mix Tape Tour: In 2003, he started out as an opposing team member in a few games out west, where he was dunking all over the place. AND 1 started to get an interest and they had a lot of their leapers on the injured list. They brought him on to the AND 1 squad in the sixth game of the 2003 tour in Phoenix and he has been crushing ever since. |
